You're a Legend!!

This page is dedicated to all the people who have been utter legends in hockey over the past few years.  Basically, if you play for LUWHC you're a legend so why not have a page?

Fran O'Neill aka Franni, Mother Dearest

Well, well, well...what a legend indeed! Fran's the banter queen of hockey... she loves her rehydration guns and is just the most fun person to go drinking with ever.  She had the best fancy dress costume ever when we did charity shop social, the wet suit was a splendid idea, who ever got her that is a legend too.  Fran was the chairwoman of LUWHC for the super year of 2007 - 2008.  She rises to every challenge and has made this year of hockey just the best fun ever! woo go Franni!

Hannah Bowden

Hannah is a greatly missed member of our club!  She was our Vice Chair for two years and did such a good job that we were originally lost without her!  She still makes key appearances, for Roses especially.  She had the perfect balance of dedication and skill on the pitch and was fully involving in social circles.  Looking after the dead fresher became a regular part of her Wednesday evenings!

Jenny Murphy

This woman fought tooth and nail for our club last year.  She was always the life and soul and lets be honest, didn't really like playing hockey!  She is our very own proof that you can be more of a social member and still thoughroughly enjoy our club!  We'll miss her bullying in the drinking circle next year and her absolute and complete refusal to wear fancy dress (with the exception of Tour!). LUWHC clubwoman 2007-2008!!!!

Katie Plant aka KP

An awesome first team captain (2007 - 2008) in every respect.  KP was a winning, yes you heard WINNING captain at the Roses Tournament in May bank holiday weekend.   She has been a tremendous  captain and she really did carry the team through every difficult situation.  KP loves Finding Nemo more than ever and wetting the Fran's bed just before Fran gets snuggles into it at night.  She does the best degree ever, Art and Veg and is just the funniest person you'll ever come across.  Keystones won't be the same without you!

Leslie Morellato aka Mrs Flaps

This Canadian treat was an asset to LUWHC in 2007-08, making her debut as a member of the second team, however, working her way up to the firsts in the Saturday league team.  Unfortunately as only an exchange student, Carleton university has stolen her back to Canada this year, and she will be greatly missed.  Leslie had an eventful tour as a tour fresher but completed every challenge without batting an eyelid. As the other half of the Flaps partnership her attendance at social events guaranteed fun and frolics, including a Disney themed birthday.  Her ongoing love affair with Mr Flaps was challenged by Ellyse temporarily, but Elllyse's plan was foiled and plastered all over the hockey poster as a result.  If Leslie could turn into anything.... she would be a Disney character (probably Belle) who downed dirty points! You'll be missed mate.

Ilka Krieger

Ilka was a legend in many ways.  The German dynamite was an inspiration both on and off the hockey pitch.  Having been a key member of LUWHC over the past two years, she's unfortunately had to return to her home country this year due to course commitments.  Ilka was a terrific social member, although like Jenny not a big fan of dressing up!  She was a star at Roses weekend, and was often spotted strutting beside the pitch with either/or both a rollie and a can of diet coke (her sponsor company ha).  She was as dedicated to the club as her course would allow, and is one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever been lucky enough to meet.  Everyone's learnt a lot from her and she will be greatly missed by all next year, especially the umpires.

Emma Collenette

Where can I start with this cornish delight?! Emma has been such a character and a vital member of LUWHC.  Her strike actually surpassed the boys', you really don't want to be on the receiving end of that.  Look at her cheeky little smile! Her presence on socials were truly felt, and if she wasn't out then was sorely missed.  Her dedication and leadership as first team captain for the year 2008-2009 was insipiring.  We couldn't have asked for anyone better to lead the 1s to a Cup Final, and to come back from Roses undefeated for the second year running, even with the worst umpires in the history of hockey, but we shan't go into that.  Make sure you're not a stranger next year!!

Carly Davies aka C-Dizzle

I could easily spend a week writing up about this legend.  After a brilliant 3 years at LUWHC and being vice captain for the 3s this year Carly has been an absolute star in more ways than one.  Although she was a tour fresher this year, she did absolutely every challenge that was thrown at her, and more! After a few drinks in her there's no stopping her, her banter is hilarious, her dedication just inspiring.  Carly will be truly missed alot, but thank god she's only living half an hour away so she can still come out on the socials with us this year!! Good times C-Dizz, Good times!

Kathryn Bowmer aka Kat

Picture
Kat is another LUWHC legend!! Captain of the 3s, she had a brilliant season (2008-2009), especially with the problem of being in the same league as the 2s.  She's always up for a laugh, would never back down from a challenge and was also another tour fresher that embraced every aspect of tour in 2009.  Kat attended every social this year pretty much without fail. The only time she didn't attend was when she realised she had to do her dissertation in 3weeks! She has an unnatural bond with her keyring... JEEENNNNNNYYY!!! Her picture poses will always be remembered but i know for sure that she will be coming on socials this up coming year, who could keep away, really? definately not K-dog!

When Kat's about... there's always a smile!

Kimi Hicken

Picture
Kimi has been an absolute star during her time at LUWHC.  She was a terrific social sec, an amazing player up front who loved getting sexed by all the goalkeepers and just always a bright and happy person.  I learnt alot from Kimi during her time at the club, especially to keep away from her when she's got a bat.  Her ability to create challanges on tour and to complete them is inspiring.  The club will definately be at a loss now she's finished her masters.
